Ikasu Satin Blade with KBS shafts
Ikasu is an independent brand from Japan, lesser known to the average golfer. It is sold through club fitting studios as individual club heads.
Because of Ikasu's relatively low profile, the only good information I've managed to stumble upon is on their website.
The Ikasu Satin Blades are traditional looking blades with a nice satin finish - hence "satin" in the model name. The sweet spot is centered precisely in the middle of the head, (not too near the heel like some blades), and sets up really nicely, with a thin top edge to inspire confidence.
Contact withe the ball produces a crisp but soft sound, (like munching on soft fries (IMG:

The flight of the ball starts low, and then gathers height as it penetrates through the air, producing a trajectory like those knock-down shots you see the pros do on TV. This is probably promoted by the 1 degree decrease in loft throughout the irons. The amount of spin it generates is average, and the ball lands softly. Very good controllability and great for shot-shaping.
The verdict?
A perfect combination of good looks, comfort and playability makes this club the strong, silent type that reacts wisely and accurately when required. Will appeal to the low handicapper- a player with a fast and consistent swing will reap the most benefit from it.
